Apostilled certified translation in Vienna

An apostille (Haager Apostille), a special seal or certification, is often required if you want to use official documents abroad. In general, apostilles are not required within the EU, but there are some exceptions. The apostille is used to confirm the authenticity of documents and is issued by the competent authorities. An apostille is governed by an international agreement that is recognised by many countries around the world and has the effect of ensuring that official documents remain valid outside their own country. The apostille consists of ten numbered points and the title is in French. It is also possible to obtain the apostille electronically (e-apostille).

Apostilles are not directly recognised in some countries. Additional steps are required here to ensure that your documents are recognised abroad. First, you must obtain a pre-certification or apostille confirming the authenticity of the document. We will then prepare a certified translation for you that can actually be supplementarily certified. This is followed by the intermediate certification, in which the authenticity of the signature of our sworn translators is confirmed (also called apostilled translation or supplementary certification). Finally, the legalisation (diplomatic certification) will take place in the respective embassy or consulate for the country for which you need the translation.

Translations of certificates require a separate procedure involving other official channels in order for your documents to be accepted abroad. Notarised translations are also sometimes required (usually for business matters). In order to produce such a translation, several steps are necessary to obtain all the pre-certifications, intermediate certifications and supplementary certifications.
